BELGRADE/MUNICH 07.02. – 17.02. 2013 Exhibition Belgrade/Munich is a result of communication between Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade and Academy of Arts in Munich that has been renewed after nearly three decades. This event holds special meaning due to historical relationship of these two artistic environments reaching well into the past: the emergence of Serbian painters schooled in Munich is seen as turning point and forming of Serbian modern painting. One of the most important painters of late 19th and early 20th century were Munich students: Djordje Krstic, Leon Koen, Katarina Ivanovic, Djura Jaksic, Nadezda Petrovic, Ivan Tabakovic… In 1984. first exchange project was connected to Gallery FLU in Belgrade where then students and nowadays professors of both faculties presented their work to audiences of Munich and Belgrade. In 2013. assistants at Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade Milica Murgic, Vladimir Milanovic and Milan Antic in cooperation with assistants at Academy of Arts in Munich Anuk Miladinovic and Ullrich Wittemann have chosen the works of students to be displayed in the Gallery FLU in Belgrade, starting February 7th and ending February 17th 2013.
